Born in the New Mexico desert, Jan always had a sense of wanderlust and a penchant for adventure. She was raised in a strict religious home and the main sources of entertainment were reading books and listening to a small transistor radio. She and her sister, Linda, read avidly, exploring the world through the written words of others. She began writing poetry at a young age which, through her passion for music, eventually lead to songwriting. She has penned many songs that have been recorded, some of which you will find on the Music page. Jan's love for music and adventure lead her to marry Texas musician, Rick Sikes. Since his passing in 2009, she has written a full length screenplay, "Time For Me To Go Home" and a novel which is now being published. "Flowers and Stone", is based on the true life story of the beginning of her's and Rick's lives together in 1970. This is the first book of a series and much more of the story to come. She has three grandchildren who occupy her time when she is not writing, attending a music festival, or traveling. She currently makes her home in North Texas.
